There are concerns over an FC Barcelona player forced off the pitch following a cheekbone injury.
During the 4th day of the Champions League, FC Barcelona was traveling to the Red Star Belgrade field when one of its players suffered an injury. Indeed, everything was going well until the hour mark, with the Catalan club leading with a score of 4-1. Pau Cubarsi, while trying to clear a ball, was kicked in the cheekbone. His teammates quickly gathered around him and alerted the medical staff. Finally, the defender had to leave the field.
Tests to carry out
At the end of the match, the medical team will carry out examinations to assess the player's condition. However, visually, he appeared not to suffer any serious injuries. Hansi Flick reportedly decided to take a cautious approach by putting him aside. This substitution gave Sergi Domínguez the opportunity to join the team for the last minutes of the match. An official club statement is expected to be released soon.
