The pressure on Manuel Neuer is increasing – especially after the recent criticism. But not everyone is so critical of the FC Bayern goalkeeper.

Munich – Nuno Gomes, Benfica icon and former striker, is clearly behind the 38-year-old goalkeeper before his former club’s upcoming game against Munich. Neuer is currently being criticized because he conceded a few goals in the Champions League that were considered to be tenable.

According to Gomes, despite the current discussion, Neuer remains an outstanding goalkeeper and indispensable for Bayern. “For me, he is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world and one of the reasons why Bayern are so good,” emphasized Gomes in an interview with the Munich team tz.

The Portuguese is convinced that Neuer’s experience and class will continue to strengthen the Munich team. The task for Benfica will be a big challenge for the former striker.
