Félix Lebrun reached the round of 16 stage this Wednesday at the WTT in Frankfurt, eliminating the South Korean Jaehyun An in four sets (11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9).

Three days after his successful entry into the running at the WTT in Frankfurt, Félix Lebrun continued his journey this Thursday. Facing the South Korean Jaehyun An, the Frenchman once again displayed his immense talent in the round of 16. After winning a tight first set (11-9), the double Olympic medalist put his opponent through hell in the second set. Quickly leading 3-5, the youngest of the Lebrun siblings then silenced the 25th in the world who no longer scored a single point (11-5).

Jaehyun An nevertheless reacted by taking the third set (7-11). Then in the fourth he pushed the favorite to his limits who admitted to his coach during a timeout that he no longer knew how to serve to surprise the South Korean. However, at 9-9, Félix Lebrun showed mastery to close the debates with the final score of 11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9. In the quarters, he will face either Briton Liam Pritchford or Swede Truls Moregard on Friday, Olympic vice-champion at 2024.

It's a surprise, earlier this Wednesday the world No. 1, the Chinese Chuqin Wang, was swept away by the Swede Anton Kallberg in three sets. The latter will play in the quarters the German Ricardo Walther, winner in five sets of the Nigerian Quadri Aruna.
