She had hesitated for a long time to say yes. In an interview with “Clique” Inès Reg returned this Wednesday, November 6, to her regret at having agreed to participate in the thirteenth season of “Dancing with the Stars”. Last January, the comedian, who became known to the general public in a video in which she asked her companion to “put glitter in your life“, had given a clue to his possible participation by posting a survey for his fans on Instagram. “Are we doing DALS?” she wrote, asking her more than two million subscribers to vote to help her in her decision-making. In the end, the “yes” vote was 93%, convincing her to participate.
“I took it as a vacation, what a mistake!”
During this interview, the 32-year-old actress revealed that she had approached her participation in the TF1 entertainment program in an almost playful way, without really understanding what it was going to entail. “I took it as a vacation, what a mistake! Frankly, it's a mistake. To be very sincere, I was there [à me dire] 'Ah, I'm going to wear dresses and sequins, so good!' (…) Like, every Friday evening, I'm going to put on dresses, sequins, I'm going to do shows and invite my whole family. That's what I did when I was little, but this 300,000 version [fois mieux].”
But the reality of the adventure was not so rosy, notably due to his altercation during rehearsals with Natasha St-Pier. For Inès Reg, this experience was a hard lesson: “It actually reminded me that life is not a game.” However, her instincts had warned her that the show was not for her. “At the time, someone was following me and filming everything that was happening.” she explains. In one of the videos, she says she sees herself again “saying 'I think, guys, that we shouldn't do it'. Now, my team, my family, my loved ones, everyone tells me: 'when you receive something, we listen to you because when you feel, you are not wrong,'” she assures. “I don’t even want to talk about this anymore”
The incident behind the scenes between the two candidates was talked about for several weeks, and a complaint was even filed by Natasha St-Pier against her. But according to her, today, relations between the two artists are now peaceful: “Everything is better. It's very weird, it's really representative of today's world, there was this story on social networks, but when we saw each other, we said hello and we said goodbye.“
The two women, who never really clashed directly, went their separate ways after the show, but the situation is now “normal”according to Inès Reg, who found a way to turn the page. “I have work to do all summer after this show where I am extremely unhappy. So I have to learn that life is like this now. (…) I went to see a girl who does shiatsu, who massages you and who comes to look for things that are wrong. And she told me that I'll be better the day I thank Natasha.” This healing process allowed Inès Reg to detach herself from the controversy and focus on the lessons she learned from it. “So, I say thank you to Natasha. And today, I’m happy,” she rejoices.
Finally, Inès Reg also spoke about her perception of the media world and social networks. “I'm ashamed“, she confides. “II'm a victim of this thing, but ultimately, it's still my name, my career, my life, me, my integrity, my person. And it’s totally the culture of emptiness. What drives me crazy is that we're making a story about something I didn't want to make. And so, I find myself talking about it and it pisses people off.“For her, it is now crucial to break away from this media spiral and regain control of her life.”I don't even want to talk about it anymore, but that's life, people talk to me about it so that's where we are. But I totally want to break away from that thing.”
