More than a thousand people march Wednesday in almost absolute silence in Romans-sur-Isère in the Drôme in tribute to Nicolas Dumas, a 22-year-old Rugby player killed by a bullet in the head on Halloween night in front of a discotheque near Valencia.
At the head of the procession, with a serious expression, the family of the young rugby player holds in their hands a banner with photographs of Nicolas and some nicknames given to him, such as “The Princess” or “My Dwarf.”
Behind, some walk with a white rose in their hand, others dressed in a rugby jersey or T-shirts with the words “Nico forever in our hearts”. Most are young. The LR mayor of Romans-sur-Isère, Marie-Hélène Thoraval, also responded.
This white march is organized by the Rugby Club Romans-Péage, already affected a year ago by the murder of Thomas, 16, stabbed during a ball in the village of Crépol (Drôme), and member of this same club .
Two men arrested Monday evening
Nicolas Dumas died on Saturday after being injured in the head in a shooting, which occurred during the night from Thursday to Friday in front of the Le Seven nightclub in Saint-Péray in Ardèche, which also left two people injured.
Around 2:55 a.m., a hooded individual dressed in black fired several shots in the direction of the queue for the establishment, which welcomed nearly 800 people for this Halloween evening, many of whom also dressed in black.
