The Romans-sur-Isère rugby club said it was “touched to the heart” after the death of Nicolas Dumas, killed by a gunshot to the head on the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1. To pay tribute to their 22-year-old player, the RC Romans-Péage club announced that they would organize, jointly with his family, a white march this Wednesday, November 6.
“It will leave from Place Paulin Pailherey in Romans at 3 p.m. and will end for a moment of contemplation at the Albert Donnadieu stadium,” writes the Rugby club on Facebook.
It is specified that the “family wishes that the rugby family is represented by wearing the respective club outfits of each of those present”. This gathering “is intended to be apolitical”, adds the rugby club.
A pot “to help finance Nicolas’ funeral” had also been created, raising at this stage more than 22,000 euros.
Two people arrested this Monday
Nicolas Dumas was the victim of a shooting while in the queue at the Le Seven nightclub in Saint-Péray, a suburb of Valence. Some participants initially believed that it was a staging linked to the Halloween party which was being held that evening in the establishment, before understanding that it was shooting. live ammunition.

This tragedy occurred a year after the death of Thomas, a 16-year-old high school student, stabbed during a village festival in Crépolin the Drôme, located a few dozen kilometers from the town of Saint-Péray. Both Nicolas and Thomas were members of the RC Romans-Péage rugby club.
A man was arrested in Marseille this Monday, November 4 as part of the investigation which had been opened for homicide. A second person was arrested at his home the same day in Cavaillon in Vaucluse.
