The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, sent her “warm” congratulations to Donald Trump after the presidential election in ANDUnited States and reaffirmed the importance of the European and American “partnership between the peoples”.
“I warmly congratulate Donald J. Trump,” wrote Ms. von der Leyen on the X network, imitated shortly after by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, who insisted on the historical links between Europe and the United States, and on the desire of the European Union to continue its journey as a partner while defending the rules-based multilateral system.
“Congratulations to President-elect @realDonaldTrump …]we have an enduring alliance and a historic bond. As allies and friends, the EU looks forward to continuing our constructive cooperation.
