This is undoubtedly the largest private real estate project in Toulouse which will finally see the light of day. The building permit for the Occitanie Tower, contested for years by associations of residents and local residents, was validated this Tuesday, November 5.

A permit which was attacked before the Administrative Court of Toulouse in June 2022, then on appeal in February 2024 by a collective of opponents, made up of three associations.

These residents judged the project to be disproportionate, not successful enough and polluting, but the Council of State judged otherwise and has just rejected the opponents' request.

Today, nothing stands in the way of the construction of Toulouse's first skyscraper, 150 meters high, opposite Matabiau station.

The Toulouse town hall project aims to create a city building of approximately 35,000 square meters on the site of the former postal sorting center in the station area.

The Occitanie Tower is to house 11,000 m2 of offices, shops, around a hundred housing units, a panoramic restaurant bar, a hotel and SNCF premises in the base of the building.
