The candidate discovered that she had cancer during the filming of the show. Now on the path to remission, she hopes that her testimony, broadcast on November 11, will have a “prevention purpose” to encourage young people to consult.

Valentine's suitor, in season 19 of Love is in the meadowFlavie, learned that she had cancer during the filming of the show. A first in the history of the M6 ​​program.

The subject will be discussed in the next episode of the show, Monday November 11, during an interview between Flavie and Karine Le Marchand. This sequence is already available on the M6+ platform for subscribers.

“We had only been together for a week”

In October 2023, Flavie, worried by a cyst on her right shoulder, consulted a dermatologist. After a biopsy, the tumor turned out to be benign. The doctor therefore advises her against the operation, but the young woman decides to do it anyway “for comfort”.

In February 2024, a few weeks before the start of filming Love is in the meadowFlavie is therefore operated on “The surgeon had to call me back three weeks later to take stock. He didn't do it. I launched into the show (…) and I said to myself: 'not news, good news”, confides the young woman to Le Parisien.

But two months after the start of filming, the surgeon called Flavie to tell her that his results were ultimately quite worrying.

“I had sarcoma. I collapsed. The oncologist immediately told me that there would be chemo. (…) I went home, I cried for half an hour then I called my sister and my parents,” says Flavie.

In a relationship for only a few days with the Norman farmer Valentin, met during the show, the young woman also informed him. “I told him that I had been diagnosed with cancer and that I would understand if he was afraid of the situation. We had only been together for a week,” she confides.

“Even young, no one is safe”

For Valentin, there is no question of leaving Flavie alone in this ordeal. “I didn't ask myself the question of leaving or staying. We always have tough times in life, we have to get over it. Flavie was strong,” he assures Le Parisien. Flavie then warned the production of Love is in the meadow.

“When she told me the news, I fell off the chair. She was panicked and I didn't know what to do. I will remember that phone call for the rest of my life,” says Gabriella Mather, producer of the broadcast, in the columns of the newspaper.

The rest of the filming, where Valentin was to meet Flavie's loved ones, was thus accelerated and adapted for the young woman. Then, at the end of the show, she started her treatment in , accompanied by Valentin.

Since then, Flavie has completed her treatment and returned to her job as a saleswoman. But, she is still waiting for results before formalizing her remission. “I’m fine!”, she told Le Parisien. “Why waste away when I’m healthy and not too sick?”

Flavie now hopes that her testimony, which will be broadcast on November 11 in the new episode of Love is in the meadowhas a “prevention vocation” to encourage young people to consult a doctor in case of doubt. “Even young people, no one is safe,” she concludes.
