Sara Forestier is back after a necessary break. The 38-year-old actress, who stars in the drama Three Friendsby Emmanuel Mouret, in theaters on November 6, said Monday during his appearance in Daily that she had not missed the cinema during the last three years when she remained away from film sets. And for good reason.
The actress, revealed in the early 2000s, needed to take time for herself after difficult years and a bad experience on set.
“There is more to life than professional life,” she said yesterday to Yann Barthès, before adding with tears in her eyes: “I needed to take a few years to rebuild myself because I had been hit by an actor on a film.” Without naming the colleague, the young woman claimed that he had “slapped” her, pushing her to leave the set.
“We’re just damaged”
A subject that she had already raised with the presenter of the TMC talk show a few years earlier. “I remember you asking me that,” she remarked.
“I went to the police station, I left the film. We talk very little about it for women, trauma. That is to say that there is everything after (where) you have to rebuild yourself. So I took this time. I filed a complaint,” she said.
A difficult ordeal for Sara Forestier, who also spoke of insomnia and “suicidal urges” at a time when she did not find comfort within her industry. “Unfortunately, as we don't get much help, trauma is not taken into account in cinema,” she lamented, before adding more generally: “Damaged women, we don't care. often jokes that they are crazy.
Pointing her finger at the host, Sara Forestier reminded him that he had also directed his question in this direction during their last meeting, asking him: “Are you crazy? »
“We are just damaged and we have to take the time to rebuild ourselves, refocus on ourselves, find pleasure again,” she then corrected. “And I really waited to find a project with people who were caring […] I rediscovered the pleasures I had at the very beginning when I made my first films. »
