On November 3, during the electoral campaign for the early legislative elections, Thierno Alassane Sall (TAS), head of the list of the Senegaal Kesé coalition, denounced an intervention by the gendarmerie in Ourossogui.
According to TAS in its press release, the gendarmerie forced him to stop to let Ousmane Sonko’s caravan pass.
Outraged, the President of the Republic of Values party criticizes what he describes as preferential treatment and an ostentatious display of luxury on the part of the Pastef party candidate, Ousmane Sonko, recalling the economic suffering of local populations.
Thus, TAS accuses Sonko’s caravan of leading a campaign marked by symbolic excess, with numerous 4x4s, ambulances and an armed escort, shocking by its contrast with the ambient precariousness.
The former Minister of Transport and Energy under Wade also criticizes the use of the gendarmerie to favor a candidate, recalling that this institution must remain at the service of all citizens.
Thierno Alassane Sall concludes by calling on the Senegalese not to ignore the signs of a misguided alternation and to vote accordingly on November 17.
