Children's rights in 2024: Where are we?

Next Wednesday, November 20, the Pionniers de premises, located at 32, rue Jules Ferry in Chenôve, will host a round table dedicated to an essential question: the rights of the child in 2024. Where are we today ? This event will be held at 6 p.m. and aims to take stock of the current situation of children's rights, while encouraging exchanges and reflections on the future.
A theme, perspectives…

As children's rights celebrate their international day each year, reflection on their concrete application in 2024 is of crucial importance. The round table will provide a perspective on how public services, associations and citizen solidarity can contribute to equal opportunities for every child. A specific questioning will be carried out on the implementation of public policies and the risks of accentuating inequalities. What is the current situation? What is the progress and what are the remaining challenges?

Popular education as a lever for equality
Among the solutions envisaged to reduce these inequalities, popular education will be at the heart of the debate. Can it be a real lever for equality and inclusion? What place, what role, and above all what means can we allocate to this form of education which promotes individual and collective development? This question arises acutely, as many families see their access to extracurricular activities increasingly limited by economic constraints.

Committed speakers
To enrich the discussions, several personalities from the world of associations and popular education will provide their testimony and their expertise. Victor Lagarde, community life manager, will speak to us about local initiatives and solidarity projects aimed at protecting and promoting children's rights. Mathieu De Poils, director of the Maison Phare de -Douche, will share his experience as manager of a reception and support space for young people. Finally, Stéphane Jalan, national president of the Pioneers of France, will provide a global vision of the action of popular education across the national territory.

This round table is intended to be a space for sharing and collective reflection, a moment of exchange to highlight current issues and identify concrete avenues of action for the future. Participants are invited to express their ideas and help advance this common cause: that of guaranteeing every child the right to grow up in an environment that is equitable and favorable to their development.
