Fabian Kahl declared dead – THAT’s what’s behind it

It’s a new and absurd trend on the internet – and now star Fabian Kahl has also become a victim! The well-known art dealer, who has been in front of the camera for the ZDF junk show “Bares für Rares” for years, is currently being declared dead in several videos on the video portal YouTube. For example, there is talk of bad accidents in which the junk star was allegedly involved – but behind this there is only a more than dubious business model. We reveal what the videos are about and who else is affected.

“Cash for Rares” star Fabian Kahl allegedly died – what’s behind it?

Fabian Kahl is actually not the first “Cash for Rares” star to be declared dead several times online. Horst Lichter, the presenter of the show, is also repeatedly buried virtually in a number of videos. “Horst Lichter, known for his cheerfulness, passion for food and culinary television shows, died in a tragic classic car accident,” said a video that appeared on the video platform weeks ago. There was even talk of a funeral that is said to have already taken place – and the short film also quoted mourners saying goodbye to Horst Lichter.

Now Fabian Kahl has also been hit: “Fabian Kahl has died, family and friends said goodbye to him,” is what it says about a photo show with pictures of the TV star that was published on YouTube. Here, too, there is talk of a memorial service at which his relatives said goodbye and shared memories of the junk star. “Fabian left deep marks in everyone’s hearts with his radiant smile and warm heart.” A close friend read a poem at the funeral service. “The text was like a living picture of his life.”

Fans who come across videos like this are likely to be quite unsettled. But the good news is: “Cash for Rares” star Fabian Kahl is fine – he is fine. The videos are simply a dubious scam by rip-off artists who want to make money by faking the deaths of celebrities! “It’s about money,” said lawyer Nadine Meßmer in an interview with “Bild”. Because: “Celebrity death reports are of interest to large parts of the population.” For some people, this is a lucrative business, after all, you can generate advertising revenue from clips played on the video portal.

Fraudsters make money from the deaths of stars like Horst Lichter and Fabian Kahl

According to “Computer Bild”, you can expect to pay one to two euros if a clip is played 1000 times. Since these videos are created using artificial intelligence and are often posted online in greater numbers, the death of a celebrity becomes a real moneymaker. Prosecuting the perpetrators is difficult because they often come from abroad – if they were caught, creating and distributing such clips could be punishable by law for defamation and slander.

Horst Lichter also had to deal with the videos – including clips that were quite violent. One claimed that the police came to his house after a neighbor called and found the TV star dead there. “Horst lay motionless on the sofa – his face was peaceful, as if he were sleeping,” it said. But they had confirmed his death. A large amount of poison was found in his body. He knew that the videos existed, he said in an interview with “TV Movie”.

“The whole internet is full, YouTube at least, with my funeral, with pictures of the accident, of my heart attack, of me lying in the hospital and so on.” And gave the all-clear: “I can assure you – unless I do “I’m still working as a spirit, and with passion – I’m alive!” He asked his fans to report such videos and not to spread them further. ■
