Live Elections America | NBC: Proud Boys will be at polling stations on Tuesday

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has again made violent comments at an election rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania. After tackling dissident Republican party member Liz Cheney last week, this time the “fake news” media were targeted.

Trump complained in Lititz about the bulletproof glass placed in front of his lectern at meetings since the assassination attempt on the ex-president last July in the same state. “I have this piece of glass right here,” Trump said. “But actually there is only fake news here, right? And to get to me, someone would have to shoot through the fake news. And I don’t mind that so much,” the president repeated several times, prompting laughter from the audience .

Steven Cheung, spokesman for the Trump campaign, stated in a statement afterwards that Trump’s comment was not aimed at the media. “It was about threats against him that were provoked by the Democrats’ dangerous rhetoric.”

Guns pointed at Cheney

The Republican presidential candidate was criticized last week after he called fellow party member Liz Cheney, who publicly spoke out against him, a “hawk” for her views on foreign policy. Trump said she would change her mind if weapons were “pointed at her face” during the battle.
