Only, the TV film carried by Samuel Le Bihan, is broadcast this evening on France 2. The opportunity to look back on the incredible physical transformation of the actor who had to lose a lot of weight for the title role!
This evening, France 2 is broadcasting the TV film Seul. Inspired by the fascinating journey of navigator Yves Parlier, this fiction looks back on the Vendée Globe which turned his life upside down.
As the press release reveals, in November 2000, the navigator was preparing to compete for the Everest of the seas. This solo world tour without stopovers or assistance is the perfect opportunity to rise to the height of the beloved heroes of your childhood. But this adventure will quickly turn into a nightmare for the competitor!
He will then have to deploy all his ingenuity to get out of this situation if he does not want to abandon his lifelong dream. Carried by Samuel Le Bihan, this fiction required a real physical investment from the actor as he revealed in Media Culture on Europe 1. In fact, he had to lose a lot of weight:
“I had to lose 10 kilos in three weeks”
“When we started, I was at the starting weight, and I had to lose at least 10 kilos, so it was a race for grams. Everyone was eating and I was with my little trays. I was on 1000 calories a day to lose 10 kilos in three weeks. He continues:
“I was in a world apart”
“I was completely isolated because I was exhausted. No one spoke to me because they left me in my bubble. In the evening, I didn't join them because often the teams meet up, drink a beer, eat something together, but there I was completely isolated on weekends too.
Suffice to say that this role required a real metamorphosis and the challenge was amply successful. One thing is certain, this story, as touching as it is captivating, should not leave you indifferent. Tune in this evening from 9:10 p.m. on France 2 to discover the TV film.
