An Ifop Fiducial survey for Sud Radio “conducted on a sample of 1,005 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over”takes stock of the political figures who best represent the left. Among left-wing sympathizers and/or voters, it is the deputy for the Somme, François Ruffin who is at the head of the politicians who “embody the left well”with 61%, ahead of MEP Raphaël Glucksmann (60%). In third position is the National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel (58%). On the other side of the ranking, we find Emmanuel Macron, with 17%, Mathilde Panot (37%), and Bernard Cazeneuve (38%).
This ranking varies slightly if we take into account the general population. It is the president of the Place Publique movement, Raphaël Glucksmann, who comes out on top. 45% of French people think that he represents the left well, ahead of Fabien Roussel (44%) and François Ruffin (42%). Emmanuel Macron still comes in last position (19%), behind Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the head of the Insoumis deputies Mathilde Panot, both at 27%.

If Jean-Luc Mélenchon remains appreciated among voters of La France Insoumise and the far left, this is less the case among all left-wing sympathizers, and the most centrist.
