A cash machine gutted after an attack in Vic-en-Bigorre, 100,000 euros stolen

In the Hautes-Pyrénées, an ATM was the victim of an attack during the night from Sunday to Monday, in Vic-en-Bigorre. This is the Caisse d'Épargne ATM located on Boulevard Gallieni, as revealed our colleagues from La Nouvelle République des Pyrénées. The public prosecutor's office that we contacted explained that a gas explosion had “disemboweled” the distributor. The amount of damage is around 100,000 euros according to prosecutor Bérengère Prud'homme.

Same procedure as for the attack on the Bazet ATM

The investigation is being carried out by the research section to identify and find the perpetrators of the attack. According to the prosecution, at least two hooded individuals appear on the video surveillance images which could be viewed quickly. According to the first elements, the operating mode seems to be the same between this attack in Vic-en-Bigorre and that occurred in Bazet end of September. Near Tarbes, the Société Générale ATM in the Bazet shopping center was destroyed with explosives and then looted. There were more than 65,000 euros inside.
