Two dead in an accident near Vitré: what we know

A 27 year old woman and a 28 year old man have died, Sunday November 3 2024, during a accident of the road occurring at calignment of the D794 and the D105at the entrance to the village of of Val-d'Is (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Three other people present in this same vehicle were transported in absolute emergency by the Smur (mobile emergency and resuscitation structure) to the Rennes University Hospital.

It is abouta woman and two men aged around thirty years. The progress of their state of health was not known this Monday afternoon.

Five victims from Mayenne

According to our information, the five victims who were traveling in the same vehicle – a Peugeot 208 – would have come from the department of Mayenne. Their car was on its roof when help arrived.

The shock took place at the height of a stop, which according to initial observations, would not have been respected by a motorist.

Two other cars are involved in this accident. The first, a Volkswagen Golf, was driven by a 19 year old young man who would come from the Liffré region. Slightly injuredthe latter was transported to the Vitré hospital center.

The second, a Citroën C3, was driven by a young woman of 22 years old, inhabitant of Val-d'Izé. Wounded in one wrist, she was transported to the Fougères hospital center.

And gendarmerie control was taking place near the intersection when the accident took place.

38 firefighters intervened on site, as well as two teams on Smur. The road was closed to traffic during the emergency response, until 9 p.m.

The gendarmerie and the mayor of Val-d'Izé were also present.

An investigation was opened to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
