“It’s still amazing”: what we know about the ax brawl that injured four young people on the RER E

A violent fight broke out this Monday morning in the RER E in Ozoir-la-Ferrière, in Seine-et-.

Two gangs of teenagers, one of whom had an axe, clashed, leaving four people injured and one individual arrested.

A TF1 team went to the site and retraced the facts.

On the station square, the police officers who arrived as reinforcements are still present in the images which open the TF1 news report to be found above. A few hours earlier, around 8 a.m., they were called for a brawl on board the RER E. As the train entered the station at Ozoir-la-Ferrière, several young people aged 15 to 17 were attacked by other individuals. of the same age.

One of them is equipped with an axe, according to a source close to the investigation at the Police-justice department of TF1-LCI, others are notably equipped with baseball bats, an opinel, a machete or katana. Several witnesses say that a group of around ten young people, dressed in black, with hoods and gloves, entered the carriage and asked people living in Pontault-Combault to get off the train.

On a video taken by a witness shown in our report, with blurred images, we see two of the victims injured in the skull and hand. One of them had her finger severed. In total, four young people are injured, two of whom are in serious condition.

The hypothesis of a settling of scores between rival gangs

According to our information, it would be a settling of scores between rival gangs. A local resident who testifies in front of our camera claims to know some of them. “Frankly, it doesn't surprise me that much, because it's been going on for a whileshe confides. In fact, the further it goes, the more violent it becomes. To the point where you bring an ax and open a skull… I hope the person gets out of this“.

Who are these young individuals? Why were they armed with an axe? These are the questions that the police are currently trying to answer. “It seems that it was both young people from Pontault and young people from Mormant who clashed violently. It seems that these were young people who were going to their school. It's still amazing to see that they probably went there with bladed weapons…“, reacts to TF1 Ivan Assioma, Île-de-Franc national secretary of the Alliance police union.

According to a source close to the investigation, at the end of the morning, a suspect, aged 16 and known to the police, was arrested at his home and placed in police custody. At his home, the ax used this morning was found and seized during a search. The other suspects are actively being sought.
