The case is believed to be linked to the death of a man in his seventies which occurred during Halloween weekend. The group of young people thought it was a joke before realizing and running away, frightened by their macabre discovery.
A Halloween costume that's a little too realistic. In Edinburgh, Scotland, a severed head was found in the street by a group of young people. According to The Telegraphthe discovery took place in the early evening in the Cowgate district, an area close to the city center of the capital.
When the gang saw the head on the ground, they thought it was a very realistic Halloween prank. They then took out their phones to film the scene, but as they got closer, the young people realized that the head was indeed human. Their video was shared on social networks and quickly went viral, alerting the police who intervened on the spot.
Who lost their head?
According to Free Middaywhich cites The Telegraph, the head would belong to a 74-year-old man, hit by a double-decker bus the same evening. The police speak of a “isolated incident” and adds that an investigation is underway to understand the circumstances of the road accident and why the severed head ended up in this location.
Out of respect for the victim's family, the police asked that the video no longer be shared by Internet users. In addition, the Cowgate district was completely closed to the public while law enforcement and forensic teams intervened. A situation that made this resident smile: “I almost laughed because it was Halloween weekend and I thought it was a prank.“
Two days after the incident, the Scottish police continued to investigate and question eyewitnesses present in the area.
