On its social networks, Air France announced “suspend flights over the Red Sea area until further notice”. A decision that follows “to the suspicion of observation by a crew of a luminous object at high altitude in the area of ​​Sudan.” As a result, some of the company's flights will have their itineraries changed. “Some aircraft were able to turn around and return to land at their departure airport, such as flight AF934 linking to Antananarivo”we specify.

A missile fired towards an Air France flight?

For Air France, this is an application of the precautionary principle. Some Internet users saw it as a response to potential missiles fired “on another Air France plane in the region”we read on the post of a discussion thread. Information which has not been confirmed and partly denied. “We do not confirm the information of a missile which would have been sent to another plane”indicates the airline.
