Patrick Sébastien makes disturbing revelations about the death of his friend Coluche “It’s a version that will annoy a lot of people”

Nearly forty years after the death of Coluche in a motorcycle accident, Patrick Sébastien spoke of the tragic disappearance of his comedian friend. While appearing on the radio show On refait la télé, on RTL, he made disturbing revelations.

According to the former host of France 2, the motorcycle accident was not an accident, and Coluche committed suicide.

This Saturday, November 2, 2024, Patrick Sébastien was invited to We're doing TV againto promote his latest book, The Carnival of the Ambitious. In this work, he recounts his meetings with personalities who had a profound impact on him during his career.

But on RTL, the host returned to the dramatic death of one of his greatest childhood friends:
Coluche. The comedian died in a motorcycle accident on June 19, 1986. A tragic event that shocked France. But according to Patrick Sébastien, the tragedy would not in fact be an accident, but a suicide.

The creator of Largest Cabaret in the World indeed assured on RTL: “It’s a version that will annoy a lot of people. Quite simply, I affirm nothing. I tell myself that at that moment, it is
unfortunate“. At Eric Dussart's microphone, Patrick Sébastien then added, looking serious: “Besides, [Claude] Berri used it very well in Tchao Pantin to look deep into the eyes. Il [Coluche] was in cam. The breakup with Véronique [sa dernière femme], it wasn't easy. His house had been burned down in Guadeloupe. Maybe a push from the handlebars, like that. [Patrick] Dewaere, his friend, had committed suicide some time before.”

The former host of France 2 then detailed his remarks: “ I don't believe in political conspiracy at all. There was the cam. I think he came out of the heroine at the time. I think Dewaere got a little upset over that.” According to the sixty-year-old, it is this negativity who surrounded him which could have explained a passage to the act for Coluche.

In the 70s,
Coluche and Patrick Sébastien were very close. The former host of France 2 saw his friend sink into great loneliness and consume illicit substances. “He was surrounded by people who were not no real friends“he explained.

“Among the people around him, there were some very sincere ones. As for [Gérard] Lanvin, for whom I have infinite respect, was a close friend. It was sincere. One day, Coluche said this sentence to me: ‘I don't have any friends so I make them. Did he tell me because that night he was not well ?” confided Patrick Sébastien.
