Election results R. Moldova. Maia Sandu won with 82% in the diaspora. In Gagauzia, Stoianoglo received 97% of the votes

The votes outside the Republic of Moldova determined the new president. In the country, the socialist Alexandr Stoianoglo won with 51.19%. However, with a percentage of 82.71% in the diaspora, Maia Sandu obtains the second mandate as president. Inside the Republic of Moldova, the Russian-backed socialist Alexandr Stoianoglo got about 32,000 more votes than Maia Sandu, getting over 51% of the votes, compared to about 49% for Maia Sandu.

In the autonomous region of Gagauzia, Stoianoglo took more than 97% of the votes, while Maia Sandu scored less than 3%.

However, in Chisinau, Sandu was voted by 57.38% of the voters, while her opponent obtained 42.62% of the votes.

In the diaspora, Maia Sandu won almost 83% of the votes, and Stoianoglo only 17%.

At this moment, the votes of only seven constituencies in the diaspora, most likely from the United States and Canada, are still to be counted.
