Noussair Mazraoui has disagreed with a MUTV pundit’s assessment following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Manchester United earned a point from their home match against Chelsea on Sunday evening, despite going ahead with 20 minutes left in the game.
Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot after Rasmus Højlund won the penalty. Chelsea, however, levelled the score just five minutes later.
United remain in 13th place, marking their worst start to a Premier League season after 10 matches with just 12 points on the board.
Despite this, Ruud van Nistelrooy might take some positives from the result, given Chelsea’s strong form this season and United’s ongoing struggles.
Mazraoui disagrees with Chelsea assessment
Noussair Mazraoui was the player to speak with MUTV after the game and he was asked about the ‘hard-fought draw’. He disagreed with the suggestion that United’s work only deserved one point.
“I don’t agree,” responded Mazraoui. “We fought really hard but I think if you look at the game and the chances we created, we deserved to win.”
The defender was United’s best player in the game, winning the club’s Man of the Match award. He won 13 out of 16 duels and also managed to help United going forward.
“I did my best today,” he added. “I was more involved in the attacking whereas lately I’ve been doing more of the controlled things in the game.
“It’s my quality to also support the wingers and the attack and that is what I could do today. I felt good.”
