Australia and Pakistan are all set to face each other in a three-match ODI series, starting Monday, November 4 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Adelaide Oval and Perth Stadium will host the other two matches on November 8 and 10 respectively.
Pakistan will be captained by Mohammad Rizwan, who recently took over from Babar Azam as the national limited-overs skipper. Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Babar are set to return after missing the last two matches of the Test series against England.
Kamran Ghulam also earned an ODI call-up after his impressive performances in red-ball cricket in Pakistan. Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram and Irfan Khan are among the new faces in the squad. After Gary Kirsten’s departure, Jason Gillespie is the interim coach for the tour.
For Australia, Pat Cummins will be playing ODIs for the first time since the ODI World Cup last year on Indian soil. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head are on paternity leave. The focus will be on Cooper Connolly, Jake Fraser-McGurk and other youngsters in the squad.
Mitchell Starc will lead the pace-attack with Adam Zampa in charge of the spin-department. Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell add value and strength to the Australian setup.
