“I understand what it’s like to be alone”: Genk star Tolu surprises everyone with heart-warming message against loneliness

There is more to life than football. And Genk top scorer Tolu Arokodare also seems to realize this. After analyzing the impressive win against Antwerp, the Nigerian definitely wanted to share a message with the world. A heart-warming monologue followed for people struggling with loneliness. “Don’t you have anyone to love you? Well, then I love you.”

During the ‘classic’ reflection on the top match won against Antwerp, Tolu Arokodare brought out one smile after another. “Patrik Hrosovsky? He wants my place as striker, right? (joking) I don’t like him.”

A few moments later it would become apparent that the Nigerian striker loves his fellow man very much. Because at the end of the interview with our journalist, Tolu suddenly took out his phone.

“I have another message, please,” he suddenly sounded serious. “This is for the world, for everyone who needs it. Can you also translate it into Dutch, French and Spanish?”

Below is his monologue in Dutch.

“To anyone who needs to hear: You are loved. Your friends and family love you. If you don’t, I love you. And so does Jesus. And most importantly, you are more than enough.”

I know my message will mean a lot to someone.

Tolu then clarified why he wanted to share that message with everyone.

“I understand what it’s like to be alone, to feel like you’re not enough. And I know there are many people who experience the same feeling. It makes them do things they don’t really want to do. I know my message will resonate a lot will mean to someone. I want to create attention for mental well-being for people who don’t dare say anything about it for fear of being laughed at. Then that’s not a friend, but there will be others for you.”

Fink satisfied with autumn title: “But we want more”

In addition to Tolu’s love, Racing Genk also sent a strong signal to the competition on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to the clear victory against Antwerp, the Limburgers can boast of a strong 31 out of 39. Thorsten Fink’s team is also certain of the symbolic autumn title.

“Autumn champion? A sign that we are doing well,” the coach grinned. “It’s fun, but we’re hungry and want more.”
