On Saturday evening, SRF’s “Tagesschau” dedicated the first ten minutes to the US elections coming up on Tuesday. Moderator Florian Inhauser switched to foreign correspondent Pascal Weber in Washington twice.
The second circuit dealt with allegations of fraud in connection with the election, which Donald Trump repeatedly made publicly during the 2020 elections.
The correspondent is just beginning his remarks when suddenly an unknown person walks into the picture. He wears a red cap and a blue windbreaker. Just as calmly as he stands behind Weber, the journalist continues his explanations.
The unknown man listens to Pascal Weber’s words, occasionally shaking his head or laughing. Neither “Tagesschau” presenter Florian Inhauser nor Pascal Weber let him disturb them. The unusual scenes last almost two minutes.
Several attentive news scouts gave the editorial team a tip as to who the unknown man might be. Accordingly, it is likely to be the German actor Frank Schröder, known, among other things, from several episodes of the ZDF series “The Black Forest Clinic”. He also runs several YouTube channels, including “DER HON”. In the channel’s profile picture, Schröder wears a red cap with the words “DER HON”. The man who crashed the “Tagesschau” also wears exactly such a hat. Schröder has not yet commented on this.
But the unusual scene did not go unnoticed by Inhauser: “With interested listeners not only in Switzerland, but obviously also in Washington,” he ends the article and moves on to the next topic. When asked, the SRF has not yet commented on the scenes.
