Miller miraculously unharmed, Binder shot in the shoulder

More fear than harm for the KTM riders, involved in a spectacular accident with Fabio Quartararo at the start in Sepang. A certain concern surrounded Jack Miller, who went highside and whose helmet touched Quartararo's rear wheel. Remaining motionless on the ground, he also saw Joan Mir rolling on his legs.

Quickly, race management announced that all three drivers were conscious but the medical staff worked around Miller. The Australian finally made a simple trip to the medical center and, just a few minutes later, he was seen walking around the paddock without much difficulty.

“Luckily no one is injured, everything is fine”confirmed Francesco Guidotti, team manager of the official KTM team, to the MotoGP website. “Jack went to the medical center for a check-up but he is fine, he has no pain. It was very ugly to see but fortunately there are no injuries.”

Left shoulder pain for Binder

Brad Binder, also caught in the incident, got up with severe pain in his shoulder. He tried to take the second start but ultimately preferred to return to his garage at the end of the reconnaissance lap. The South African could take exams at the start of the week, according to Guidotti.

“Brad tried to take the second start but the pain in his left shoulder did not allow him to do so. It was not safe, neither for him nor for the others. Maybe he will have shoulder exams tomorrow, if the pain is still there, and we'll see.”

“We can be happy that they are both doing well”underlined Guidotti. As for Quartararo, he suffers from a leg and moves with a limp, and also deplores pain in his right shoulder, but he was able to take the second start and even achieve his best result of the year, sixth place.

The images broadcast during the live broadcast did not allow us to clearly understand the dynamics of the fall and Guidotti admitted not having all the elements: “From the images we have, it's not very clear. It looks like Brad was really, really inside and touched someone up front. Afterwards, he had to lift the bike and he hit Fabio, Fabio hit Jack. It was a domino effect but I think it's a racing incident, nothing that deserves a penalty.”

The race management found nothing to complain about and did not launch an investigation into the incident.
