Juventus and the defense with Gatti and Kalulu: more balance and solidity for Motta. And Bremer…

November 3 – 12.43pm – UDINE

Juve returns from Udine without having conceded a goal. After having scored seven goals in the last three matches, it had not happened since the match against Lazio that they kept a clean sheet. The Bianconeri experienced some risks, especially when Lucca hit the crossbar in the second half: Kalulu’s return from the first minute, alongside Gatti, however, restored the solidity that the team had lost in the last period. Motta smiles for having found the right balance at the back but the Danilo case remains unsolved, who had regained a starting shirt due to his substitution against Lazio. With him on the pitch, however, Juve suffered a bit too much, even if that cannot be the only explanation for the defensive weakness shown against Stuttgart, Inter and Parma.

CLEAN SHEET

In the match against Udinese, the re-aggression of the ball improved, starting from the attackers and midfielders. The less hysterical performance (compared to the last period) of the defensive line was based on this trend, being attentive in most of the circumstances in which Udinese became dangerous in Di Gregorio’s area. Suffice it to say that the Juventus goalkeeper only had to manage two shots on target and that, even in the long term, after the changes of the lower flanks (Danilo and Cabal for Savona and Cambiaso), Udinese never found the corridor free to make himself more effective in front of goal: obviously excluding the very occasional one that happened in Lucca. This marks the eighth clean sheet of the season between the championship and the Champions League for the Bianconeri, the second since Bremer stopped. The Brazilian’s absence weighs heavily and Giuntoli doesn’t hide, admitting that the priority for the January transfer market concerns defence.
