According to Reuters, on November 1 (local time), Washington State Governor Jay Inslee ordered members of the National Guard to be ready to act if election violence broke out.

Electoral violence reignites across America

Earlier, on the morning of October 28, a ballot box in Washington state caught fire when an incendiary device was placed there. The fire destroyed hundreds of early voters’ ballots. In the days that followed, reports of possible violence continued to spread.

Regarding this situation, Mr. Inslee stated on his personal website: “Based on general information, detailed information and concerns related to the possibility of violence and other illegal acts related to the 2024 elections, I want to make sure we’re fully prepared to respond. »

The deep divide between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris has sparked concerns that violence would erupt in this election.

The biggest concerns are focused primarily on the official election day, November 5, and the days that follow, when preliminary results are announced.

However, election officials across the United States recorded numerous fights during the early voting period.

On October 30, in the town of Champaign, Illinois, a voter wearing a hat with a message of support for Mr. Trump got into a fight with another right-wing voter at the early voting station.

The fight broke out after election officials asked voters not to bring political items into the voting booth.

On October 29, in Neptune Beach (Florida), Caleb James Williams (10 years old) and several young people holding signs supporting Mr. Trump stormed an early voting station. Here, Williams brandished a machete and threatened a group of female voters supporting Ms. Harris.

Williams has now been arrested and faces aggravated assault charges.

Mr Trump and Ms Harris ‘reunited’ in Wisconsin

On November 1, Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris held their final campaign event in the battleground state of Wisconsin.

Ms. Harris has continued her formulaic approach in recent days: appearing with a celebrity (this time rapper Cardi B) and criticizing Mr. Trump’s recent statements.

For Mr. Trump, his return to Milwaukee – where he officially became the Republican presidential nominee at the party’s convention in late July – was much less rowdy.

In front of a Fiserv Forum room more deserted than before, Mr. Trump continued to issue many dire warnings about America’s prospects under Ms. Harris’s leadership, while claiming that the 2020 election had been disrupted.

However, Mr. Trump’s statements have been completely drowned out by the fallout from recent disastrous “smears.”

His public threat to the former congressman is a prime example. Liz Cheney October 31 evening: “She’s a crazy war-crazed extremist hawk. Give her the rifle and face her with the gun pointed at her. Let’s see how she feels with a gun pointed straight at her face.”

Ms Cheney is the daughter of former US Vice President Dick Cheney. Cheney and his father are the most senior Republicans dissatisfied with Mr. Trump and publicly support the Democratic Party in this election.

Ms. Cheney has frequently appeared alongside Ms. Harris at numerous campaign events in recent weeks.
