Bavaria and Frankfurt win confidently – Germany

What an afternoon in the German Bundesliga. FC Bayern and Eintracht from Frankfurt each won comfortably at home and didn’t give their opponents the slightest chance. In addition, Kiel and St.Pauli won, while Wolfsburg and Augsburg drew.

FC Bayern Munich has at least temporarily expanded its lead in the Bundesliga. The German record champions won 3-0 (2-0) at home against 1. FC Union Berlin on matchday 9 and are currently three points ahead of RB Leipzig.

The new third place in the table is Eintracht Frankfurt. The Hessians gave bottom team VfL Bochum no chance at 7:2 (4:1). Bochum is now seven points behind relegation place 16. Newcomer Holstein Kiel was able to celebrate the first Bundesliga win in its club history in a 1-0 (1-0) win against 1. FC Heidenheim. But Kiel remains second to last because co-promoter FC St. Pauli also scored three points in the relegation battle with a 2-0 (1-0) win at TSG Hoffenheim. VfL Wolfsburg struggled to a disappointing 1-1 (0-1) in the home game against FC Augsburg.

Bayern once again relied on top striker Harry Kane with two goals (15th/foul penalty, 51st). They were the tenth and eleventh league goals of the season for England’s national team captain. Kingsley Coman (43rd) also got on the scorers list.

The Frankfurt team initially outplayed the Bochum team and led 4-0 after just over half an hour thanks to Hugo Ekitiké (9th), Omar Marmoush (18th), Ansgar Knauff (20th) and Nathaniel Brown (32nd). . Thanks to goals from Dani de Wit (35th) and Philipp Hofmann (51st), the Bochum team came close. But Mahmoud Dahoud (61′), Can Uzun (66′) and again Ekitiké (69′) removed all doubts about Eintracht’s victory.

Kiel’s courage is rewarded

In Kiel, after Patrick Erras’ opening goal (28th), the promoted team successfully fought for their first league win with a lot of passion in defense and courage on the counterattack. Thanks to Phillip Tietz’s goal (34th), Augsburg was in the lead for a long time in Wolfsburg. But Mohamed Amoura (82′) managed to equalize for VfL in the final phase.

In Hoffenheim, the guests from St. Pauli were able to celebrate their second away win of the season thanks to goals from Oladapo Afolayan (20th) and Andreas Albers (90th + 3).
