The care allowance amounts to PLN 215.84 per month. However, not everyone knows that this benefit can also be received by disabled people who struggle with type 1 diabetes. Since November, this benefit has not been increased due to the new regulation issued on this matter.
Type 1 diabetes as a chronic disease is also a type of disability that entitles you to apply for a certificate. Next comes the right to receive monthly care allowancewhich is currently PLN 215.84. And the amount of this benefit will remain unchanged in the near future.
The amount of the care allowance in the new benefit period remains at the same level, i.e. PLN 215.84 per month.
The new news is that the amount of the care allowance referred to in Art. 16 of the Act on Family Benefits, is still PLN 215.84 per month. It has not been increased since November, although there were earlier announcements that it would eventually be indexed. This amount will therefore apply in the new benefit period, which started on November 1, 2024 and will last until October 31, 2025.
The amount of the care allowance, the amount of which has not changed since November 1, 2019, is not increased by the new regulation of the Council of Ministers. This is the regulation of August 13, 2024 on the amount of family income or the income of a learner constituting the basis for applying for a family allowance and special care allowance, the amount of family benefits and the amount of the caregiver’s allowance. It entered into force on August 15, 2024.
Care allowance for people with type 1 diabetes is available regardless of income
Few people realize that people suffering from type 1 diabetes can also apply for care allowance. Funds for the treatment of this chronic disease are granted regardless of the amount of income per family member, and the right to the benefit is granted for an indefinite period, which ensures stable support in long-term treatment.
To benefit from this support, people with type 1 diabetes must first obtain a disability certificate. This process begins with submitting an appropriate application to the Disability Assessment Team competent for the place of residence, either in the city or in the district. This ruling is crucial because it is the basis for granting a benefit that can significantly facilitate the everyday functioning of people affected by this disease.
