A former BVB trio experienced a crazy game on Saturday afternoon (November 2nd). All three were able to collect at least one scorer.

Frankfurt/Dortmund – Eintracht Frankfurt swept VfL Bochum off the field 7-2 in the Bundesliga on Saturday. A surprising success for the SGE, at least at this level. Looking at the goalscorers, many a Borussia Dortmund fan may have rubbed their eyes in amazement. Three ex-BVB players were directly involved in this victory.

The shooting festival for the Hessians was initially opened by strikers Hugo Ekitiké (9th) and Omar Marmoush (18th). The former BVB players then turned up the heat.

Ansgar Knauff scored the goal to make it 3-0 (20th). The 22-year-old moved permanently from Dortmund to Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 after a one-year loan and has been part of the extended regular lineup ever since.

Youngster Nathaniel Brown made it 4-0. The assist was provided by Nnamdi Collins, who was already labeled a flop at Eintracht.

Collins went through all the positions in the BVB youth team between 2016 and 2019 and was one of the best players in his year. However, he did not play a single competitive minute for the Dortmund professionals.

Ex-BVB professional Mo Dahoud shines with a goal and assist in the Frankfurt win

Mo Dahoud’s big moment came in the second half. The midfield strategist scored Frankfurt’s fifth goal (61′) after VfL Bochum had moved within two goals. A little later, the ex-Borussia player put on an impressive 7-2 win for Ekitiké. In the meantime, Can Uzun had scored for the SGE.

Dahoud surprisingly moved to Frankfurt in the summer. He previously terminated his contract with Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion after just one year.
