How to explain the pale face of FC Lorient which showed nothing this evening?
There is a disappointment compared to what we expected and what we saw. We lacked everything this evening, rhythm, intensity, aggression, technical quality. So it's difficult to win a match playing like this.
Surprisingly, it was especially up front that nothing happened even though Lorient is the best attack in L2.
Yes absolutely. We don't have much to eat, apart from Soumano's chance at the start of the match. It was very poor and I think it's linked to the pace, the intensity of our intentions and the incredible technical waste we had. We didn't see the face of our team this evening (Friday), especially the one we showed during half-time against Dunkirk (1-2 at the break then 4-2). Mohamed Bamba also came out, hit in the thigh.
The three-at-the-back pattern was not a success either.
It’s a pattern that was imposed by injuries and fatigue. Kalulu is injured, Igor Silva was in his return match against Dunkirk and he played 90 minutes when it was not expected that he would play so much. So to play it again this evening, three days later, knowing that it is quite fragile, we were afraid of losing it again. We had decided to preserve him so playing with four without a right back is problematic. So we changed the system. But it's not so much the system that is in question, it's the group's investment.
