Sporting 5-1 Estrela da Amadora: Poker from Gyokeres and they go 10 out of 10 for Sporting – I Liga

Sporting remains unstoppable at the top of the I Liga 24/25, 100 percent victorious, after recording their 10th victory in 10 rounds by hosting and beating Estrela da Amadora 5-1 in Alvalade, with four goals from the inevitable Viktor Gyokeres. Rodrigo Pinho, in the middle, still gave hope to the visitors, and towards the end, Maxi Araújo closed the score for the lions.

On a night when all eyes were on Rúben Amorim, after his move to Manchester United was confirmed in the morning, the Swede completely diverted the attention to himself and with the poker he signed against a Estrela da Amadora who was eager to Alvalade, already has 20 goals this season. And it's only the beginning of November…

A bold star in the first minutes and a huge ovation for Nuno Santos

Estrela da Amadora, unlike other teams that visited Alvalade in recent times, did not present a very low defensive line and, perhaps trying to take advantage of some instability on Sporting's side, appeared several times close to the Leonine penalty area in the minutes initials.

The first real dangerous move, however, came from Sporting, in an insistent move by Daniel Bragança, with the ball bouncing off the midfielder and almost surprising the visiting goalkeeper. But in response, Estrela da Amadora also threatened. Quick throw from the left, low cross into the small area and a provident cut to prevent the final touch from appearing.

The game continued in this vein, without Sporting really accelerating and, with the game not having much rhythm, it was the stands that put on a show: in the 11th minute, the shirt number of the injured Nuno Santos, a huge ovation for the left-footed player, who should not play more this season.

Gyokeres, of course, set the tone for 25 crazy minutes

Sporting was not, therefore, accelerating anywhere else, but it is already known that towards Alvalade there is someone who accelerates out of nowhere and scores. And that is what, once again, happened. In the 19th minute, Ferro tried to make a cut, but the ball fell to Gyokeres, who combined well with Pedro Gonçalves and, already in the area, shot hard for Bruno Brígido's goal.

The goal brought speed to the game, which became even more about stopping and responding until halftime. The equalizer was in sight shortly afterwards, but first a great save from Franco Israel and then Danilo's mistake on the rebound, not hitting the gaping goal in front of him, kept Sporting ahead.

And it was Sporting – and Gyokeres – who scored again, right after. Dramé lost the ball to Trincão, who quickly launched the Swede and he, in Brítido's face, kicked the ball to count. But Estrela didn't give up and pulled one back after just four minutes, at 35. Franco Israel still saved Rodrigo Pinho's first shot, but Danilo insisted on sending the ball back to his teammate who, with a header, this time didn't forgive.

And, in a really crazy second half of the first half, there was still time for Gyokeres to reach the hat-trcik. in the transformation of a penalty to punish Bucca's arm on the ball intercepting a shot from Trincão that led towards the goal. In the transformation of the ultimate punishment, Gyokeres did not forgive.

Tranquility Poker

Franco Israel was once again present in Sporting's goal to close the first half and open the second, with the second half following in the same vein as the first: stop and response, danger near both goals and Sporting also threaten the goal.

Estrela thought it had reduced, but Rodrigo Pinho saw a goal disallowed for handball. The Brazilian from Estrela didn't score twice, the Swede from Sporting played poker. With another remarkable run, full of strength, balance, goal awareness and technical quality, Gyokeres headed towards Estrela's goal, left an opponent behind and, again in the face of Brígido, shot across the cross, with no chance, making it 4- 1.

Sporting's (and Gyokeres') fourth goal finally made Estrela lower their arms and the green and whites even managed to extend the advantage, with Maxi Araújo closing the score with a cross shot, with his left foot, thus making his debut by scoring from lion on the chest.
