And the director of Mademoiselle de Joncquières et Chronicle of a fleeting affairamong others, really appreciated: “ is a very beautiful city. In a town like his, we have a whole variety of interesting settings for filming.” With his team, he set up his cameras near Fourvière, Vieux-Lyon, Terreaux, -Rousse, avenue Berthelot, or the Tête d'Or park and also in ( city hall and TNP in particular). Emblematic places in the city that Lyonnais will easily recognize, with quite a few images of bridges, including the wooden one of the Tête d'Or, which made the director think of that of The Road to Madison de Clint Eastwood.

All this makes the settings traveled by the film's characters a key element of the narrative, just as other cities, including New York, could have been used by Woody Allen. It is also from the side of this filmmaker, but also of Eric Rohmer, that we can find the references of Emmanuel Mouret who likes to lead the spectators into a marivaudage where the smiles do not hide a certain seriousness behind the vaudeville .

In Three Friends we follow Joan (India Hair) who suffers from no longer loving Victor (Vincent Macaigne), while Alice (Camille Cottin) believes she is satisfied living with Éric (Grégoire Ludig) without passion and that Rebecca (Sara Forestier) maintains a connection with the latter. Arrives Thomas (Damien Bonnard), who finds himself confined, with regret, to the role of good friend.
