Accused of sexual harassment, Slimane will still be at the NRJ Awards

For several days, uncertainty has reigned around Slimane’s participation in the NRJ Awards. Despite the questions, the singer, who is the subject of a complaint for sexual harassment filed this Tuesday, October 29, will be present at the ceremony at the Palais des Festivals in this Friday, October 1, as confirmed BFMTV.

Indeed, his name still appeared in the official list of “artists present for this 26th edition”, broadcast on Wednesday October 30 by TF1. In “Le Parisien”, we learn that the rehearsals for the event went well. “He greeted everyone when he arrived and ensured his rehearsal with his usual good humor, despite the delay that we had all accumulated,” explains a technician to the French newspaper.

The only difference compared to previous editions: the press and “non-essential” people were kept away from these tests. The media adds that the performance will be live and not recorded as some claim.

Slimane is in the running for two distinctions: “French-speaking song of the year” with “Mon amour”, the title he performed during Eurovision last May, and that of “French-speaking male artist”.

The accusation of sexual harassment was made by a former technician who worked on his Cupid Tour. The events date back to last December, after a concert given at the Zénith in Saint-Étienne. To date, neither Slimane nor his team have made a public statement on this matter.
