“Goodbye Germany” star Janine Hundt (44) is in real trouble. In the latest episode it gets really dramatic: First stolen, then a desperate hospital visit – life in Tanzania shows its toughest side!
Two and a half years ago, Janine took the big step to Africa as a single woman. Today she lives in Dar es Salaam with her husband Attu (35) and their little daughter Inaya. But paradise has its pitfalls. Relieved of 30,000 euros by her ex, Janine now has to fight for her belongings again. This time her housekeeper is suspected of stealing 1,700 euros and clothes from her closet.
“Goodbye Germany”: Daughter Inaya has to go to the hospital
The housekeeper confesses everything in court, but there is little hope of getting the money back. And as if that wasn’t enough, the next misfortune hits the family like a lightning strike: eight-month-old Inaya suffers a life-threatening attack of suffocation!

With Attu in his home village of Kisaki, Janine is on her own. She quickly brings her daughter to the clinic, accompanied by Attu’s brother. A race against time that luckily ends well: Inaya is saved. But the relief is only short-lived. “You are all alone, your husband is not there, your child is sick and you know that he has escaped death,” says Janine, describing the shocking moments.
These dramatic events completely upset the family’s life plans. Janine and Attu actually wanted to move to rural Kisaki. But after Inaya’s attack, the question arises: Is a life without any medical care even conceivable?
