To transform the face of men's health, the Movember organization once again invites the French to grow a mustache throughout the month of November.

Every year, “Movember” returns to the forefront. This year, the organization once again invites the French to grow a mustache throughout the month of November to fight against male diseases.

“Prevent men from dying too young”

With or without a mustache, shaved or not: there are many ways to get involved with men and their health this month of November.

This October 31, the Movember organization is encouraging its supporters, the “Mo Bros”, to shave completely, thus marking the start of their commitment to raise funds dedicated to mental health, suicide prevention, as well as in the fight against prostate (9,885 new cases in 2023) and testicular (2,700 new cases per year in ) cancers.

The idea behind this operation? Move the lines and raise awareness of men's health issues, with particular emphasis on mental health, which is often neglected.

Let's prevent men from dying too young“, this is the leitmotif of this campaign, revealed in a press release.

Punchy actions

On the ground, numerous initiatives are being put in place to break taboos.

For example, high-level athletes are invited to speak to share their experience of depression, which is common in the sporting environment. Their testimonies raise awareness of the importance of mental health management in sport, “an area where psychological fragility is sometimes minimized“.

Others will be able to introduce themselves to the joys of running or walking as part of the “Move Movember” operation.

By covering 60 km during the month, they pay tribute to the 60 men who commit suicide every hour around the world.“, reveals the press release.

But non-athletes can also participate, by growing a mustache throughout the month of November.

At the same time, it is possible to organize a “Mo-Ment”: bring together a community throughout the month of November and launch initiatives to encourage those around you to make donations in favor of men's health, thanks to a platform in dedicated line.

Finally, participants can take on the “Mo Challenge”, a stimulating challenge allowing them to “maximize the impact of their actions” et “to increase awareness around this crucial cause“.

At Movember, we are driven by a bold mission: to change the face of men's health. But we cannot accomplish this mission alone. To make a real difference, we must unite our global community of supporters. Mustache or not, there are countless ways to show support and get involved, whether it's running 60km during the month, hosting an event or taking on an epic challenge. We encourage everyone to answer the call and get involved during Movember to help stop men dying too young”, says Anne-Cécile Berthier, director for the United Kingdom and Europe at Movember.

Ultimately, everyone at their own level can contribute to making and being this difference.”which will enable men to live longer, happier and healthier lives“, concludes the organization.
