She is considered the Queen of Halloween – but Heidi Klum, 51, also once made a mistake when choosing the perfect scary costume: The model mom talks to the US “People” magazine about what went wrong when she got married in 2006 disguised as a seductive apple from the Garden of Eden.

At the opening of the “Crazy Pizza” restaurant in New York City, the model from “Germany’s Next Top Model” revealed that she had a big mishap with the costume. “When I was dressed as an apple and Seal as Eva,” she remembers the couple’s costume with her now ex-husband.

She was eight months pregnant with her son Johan at the time, so Heidi Klum slipped into the oversized red apple costume in 2006. “I wanted to make sure that nothing could happen to the baby,” explains Klum. After all, hundreds of people gather in a small space at the Rhineland native’s legendary New York Halloween party, which she has organized almost every year since 2000.

What did she not consider? Logistical problems upon arrival! “I didn’t fit in anywhere and therefore couldn’t get through normal car doors. So they had to get me a convertible at the last minute so that I could even get in the car and ride,” reports Klum.

She expects Halloween mishaps every year

Such mishaps can happen every year: Heidi Klum admits that she is always nervous because of this. “Because there’s no real trial run beforehand. I can’t do a proper fitting before I wear the costume. I never know if it’ll fit until the day comes.” She has been preparing for the scariest night of the year for weeks. This year, her highly anticipated Halloween outfit will include special effects makeup.
