“A nightmare”, “ did not exist”… the press review after the rout

PSG largely won at the Vélodrome on Sunday evening, in a one-sided Classic (0-3). The press did not spare OM, notably Balerdi and Greenwood. On the Parisian side, we underline the importance of the red card, which really helped Luis Enrique's players.

PSG won the first round of the Classic without trembling, Sunday evening at the Vélodrome (0-3). The Parisians are now the sole leaders of Ligue 1, after Monaco's defeat in (2-1). Luis Enrique's players dominated the debates against the borrowed Marseillais. In its analysis of the match, the Marseille press was not kind to OM. “A nightmare” headlines La Provence en Une after this heavy defeat.

>> Ligue 1: relive OM-PSG (0-3)

The daily witnessed “a one-sided Clasico” in which PSG was “ruthless”. In its notes, La Provence lets loose and gives a score of 1/10 to Mason Greenwood's match. The English striker was transparent, lost eight balls and was replaced at the break. “Everyone knows, Luis Enrique included, that he doesn’t like to defend,” adds La Provence in its commentary. Faulty on Joao Neves' opening score, Greenwood “borders on professional misconduct” believes the newspaper.

1/10 for François Letexier

The daily also sanctions the match of Leonardo Balerdi, author in particular of a crude csc, with a score of 2/10. For La Provence, the conceded own goal is “insane”.

The Provençal newspaper also criticizes the match of François Letexier, who prematurely expelled Amine Harit. Provence awards the match referee a score of 1/10. For its part, La Marseillaise concedes that “OM did not exist against an effective PSG”. In its post-match commentary, the Marseille site affirmed that the Olympians “did not weigh heavily”.

On the PSG side, Le Parisien is jubilant. “Even in the middle of October, the air conditioning continues to run at full speed at the Vélodrome stadium” laughs the newspaper. If “did not have to force”, Luis Enrique's players “benefited well” from a “severe” red card. For the ratings, La Parisien highlighted Joao Neves' match by giving it a 7.5/10. The Portuguese midfielder stood out by opening the scoring, but was also very active in the midfield. The performances of Vitinha, Marquinhos, Dembélé, Pacho and Zaire-Emery are all praised with a 7/10.
