They got to know each other in front of the cameras, and now they are sealing their love on TV. Mike Heiter proposed to Leyla Lahouar on “Celebrity Big Brother”.
What started as a flirt in the Australian jungle is supposed to last forever. In the last season of the RTL program “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” Reality TV stars Leyla Lahouar and Mike Heiter got closer at the beginning of the year and made their relationship official a few weeks later.
In mid-October they moved into the “Celebrity Big Brother” container together – and wrote the next milestone in their love story there. In the semifinals of the Sat.1 show, Mike asked for Leyla’s hand in marriage. The “Big Brother” himself gave the impetus. During Sunday’s live show, Mike was called into the consulting room where red roses, hearts, champagne and a ring were waiting for him.
“Seize the chance,” the astonished reality star was encouraged – and after a short thought, he actually jumped on it. “I had already planned it anyway, but actually only for next year,” explained the 32-year-old. “But when is the perfect moment? You never know. Maybe it’s now,” Mike clarified, went back to the other residents and asked for Leyla’s hand in marriage.
“I know you’re the right one,” he assured the 28-year-old and got on his knees in front of her. The former jungle camper could hardly believe her luck, screamed loudly and jumped into his arms.
Leyla’s “yes” doesn’t come as a surprise, as she and Mike had recently spoken on the show about their future plans together. One house is already being renovated. And the two also want children together. “I’d be happy. I’m ready,” Mike explained. Leyla also: “If I were to become pregnant now, it would be 100 percent a desired child and we would both be really happy.” But she would like to have one thing: “Get married first!” This wish now seems to be coming true.
