Trump plays McDonald’s employee in Harris operation

Donald Trump staged himself on Sunday in a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant in Pennsylvania, playing the role of an employee at the fryer, an operation aimed, according to him, at denouncing a lie from Kamala Harris. The Republican candidate protected his white shirt and tie by putting on an apron and then was explained how fries are prepared.

He then took on this task, draining the frying basket, generously salting the fries and bagging them. The septuagenarian, known for liking hamburgers and fast food, then went to the counter serving drivers. “It’s Trump who’s enjoying it,” he told a family of customers at the restaurant in Feasterville, near Philadelphia.

“I have now worked 15 minutes longer than Kamala, she has never worked here,” he said after a quarter of an hour. Kamala Harris claims to have had a summer job at McDonald’s in 1983 when she was a student. She would have alternated between the cash register, the fryer and the ice cream machine at a restaurant in Alameda, near Oakland, California.

Donald Trump claims that this is a lie, out of pure electoral opportunism. The odd job at a fast food restaurant is indeed a reality that millions of Americans can identify with. The Republican’s campaign team provided no proof of the lie theory. And that of the Democrat showed no material evidence supporting this summer job at McDonald’s.

“Happy birthday” sung by Stevie Wonder

At the same time, Kamala Harris became sixty-year-old on Sunday, with a happy birthday sung by Stevie Wonder in an African-American church. Rather than her age, the Democrat mainly mentioned during the weekend that of the 78-year-old Republican, according to her “unstable” et “unfit” to lead the United States again.

Kamala Harris, who is Baptist, spoke at two Atlanta-area churches attended by African-American worshipers.

In the first, she insisted on the « compassion », the « respect » and the« amour » facing “those who fuel divisions, spread fear and cause chaos.” In the second, she received the support of Stevie Wonder, a huge black star, after having benefited the day before from that of the rapper Lizzo and the RnB singer Usher.

The vice-president recorded relatively disappointing voting intentions among African-Americans, a category of voters who were nevertheless predominantly Democratic.

She then headed to Pennsylvania, which is a royal trophy among the seven pivotal states where the presidential election on November 5 will be played.
