Mbappé strikes with Real

Real Madrid won on Celta Vigo in a very lively match (1-2). Mbappé and Vinicius were the scorers for Madrid to give their team the three points.

After complicated last days from an extra-sporting point of view for Kylian Mbappé, his return to La Liga was expected. Lined up by Carlo Ancelotti in the starting eleven, the French international did not miss his meeting on the Celta Vigo pitch. A loss of the ball by the locals with a ball blocked by Camavinga allows Mbappé to find himself alone at 20 meters. Facing the goal, the attacker raises his head and sends an unstoppable cross shot halfway up to give his team the advantage (20th, 0-1). A sixth goal in nine La Liga games. With forward races and good activity on the offensive level, Mbappé had a good match, which shows that he is in good shape. He could have gifted Vinicius the second goal in the 53rd minute but the VAR decided otherwise. Launched deep by Bellingham, the Frenchman is finally offside and the Brazilian’s goal is therefore rightly refused.

Celta powerless despite the opportunities

To have a good match, you need two teams. This Saturday in Vigo, the locals resisted, even dominated at certain moments Real. Before Madrid opened the score, Celta, through Williot, almost scored one of the goals of this 10th day. On a clearance from the defense, Iglesias volleys again to send his Swedish teammate against Courtois. The midfielder misses his duel (7th), just like Bamba, who stumbles on the Belgian goalkeeper’s good exit (68th). Also led by a very good Mingueza, who sees his shot float over the crossbar (69th), Celta will still equalize. Upon returning from the locker room, Mingueza crosses for Williot (51st, 1-1) who beats Courtois with a flat foot. Relaunched and under the eyes of the suspended Iago Aspas, Celta Vigo will finally give in to the class and talent of Modric, who came on in the 63rd minute. Three minutes after arriving on the pitch, the Croatian delivers a caviar to Vinicius who fakes the goalkeeper and shoots under his arms (66th, 1-2).

A series to keep against Barça

This success allows Real to continue its unbeaten streak in La Liga and reach 42 consecutive games without defeat. An impressive series which could end against Barça, who holds the record with 43 matches. This is good because on the 11th day, Real will host FC Barcelona. Despite a game in hand, Barça sees Real get back to equal points. Flick’s men will host Sevilla at home this Sunday.
