After her Olympic title in in July, Cassandre Beaugrand was crowned triathlon world champion on Saturday during the final event of the WTCS world circuit in Torremolinos in Spain, confirming her status as a star of the discipline.

The 27-year-old Frenchwoman still got a (big) scare after a protest was filed by the British team for “external assistance”.

The French Olympic champion took the wrong direction at the start of the swimming event. She headed towards the right of the water while all the competitors left towards the first buoy located on the left. On images broadcast by the channel The Teambroadcaster of the event, we see a jet ski coming up to him and pointing out his mistake.

“Claim for external assistance. The result of the women’s race is suspended »had communicated World Triathlon on its X account. The complaint was finally rejected by the jury.

Coming out of the water around fifteen seconds after the best, the Frenchwoman caught up on the bike and then attacked three kilometers from the finish of the running race, disgusting her rivals.
