Essen. Yesterday evening (October 18th) a 34-year-old was injured on the shooting range by an unknown person with a stabbing weapon. The Essen police have set up a murder squad.
At around 7:00 p.m., the 34-year-old Moroccan was on the shooting range. An unknown person suddenly approached him and injured him with a stabbing weapon. Due to the intervention of witnesses, the suspect was prevented from carrying out the crime and fled towards the town hall.
The suspect is described as male, approx. 170 cm tall, with short black hair and a full black beard. During the crime, the man was wearing black pants, a black top and black shoes. Witnesses said he had an Arab appearance and spoke Arabic.
The seriously injured man was immediately treated by rescue workers and taken to a hospital. The man’s life is no longer in danger.
Search measures that were immediately initiated were negative. The Essen police have set up a murder squad. The investigation into the suspect and the background to the crime are part of the investigation.
