‘If I get an opportunity in future…’: Saba Karim reveals his conversation with Sarfaraz Khan during Dharamsala Test

Former India wicketkeeper batter Saba Karim revealed his conversation with Sarfaraz Khan after the batter smashed his maiden Test century in Bengaluru. Karim revealed that he had a conversation with the Mumbai-based batter during his last Test outing in Dharamsala against England where Sarfaraz told him that if he got an opportunity in future he would definitely convert into a big one.

Sarfaraz made his Test debut against England where he scored 200 runs in his three Test matches against three Lions. Sarfaraz scored 56 runs in the final Test match where India defeated England by an innings and 64 runs.

“I met Sarfaraz Khan after the Dharamshala Test Vs England. He got out after his 50, he told me ‘if I get an opportunity in future, I’ll definitely convert that into a big one’. He’s a dedicated guy” said Saba Karim who is a presenter during in Bengaluru.

Sarfaraz missed all the action after the fifth Test match against England. He came into India’s playing XI for the first Test match after young batter Shubman Gill missed the clash due to a slight niggle in the neck.

Coming back to the match, Sarfaraz  (125, 154b) and Rishabh Pant (53, 56b) were at the crease when rain played spoilsport and an early lunch was taken due to covers at Chinnaswamy. The duo made a partnership of 113 runs for the fourth wicket in just 22 overs.

India resumed Day Four from 231/3 and 125 behind, now trailing only by 12 runs.

Wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant who got out from the field after getting injured during Day 2 while keeping wickets came to bat with Sarfaraz.
