David Hubert probably imagined his first real match as head coach of Anderlecht differently. In the purple clash, man of the match Marwan Al-Sahafi felled a lax Anderlecht with a goal before and after half-time. Beerschot finally got his first three-pointer.

The Saudi striker Marwan Al-Sahafi also punishes passive defense for the second time. Just like in the first half, he took advantage of the yielding Anderlecht defense to simply advance towards Coosemans’ goal. After a lay-off by Colassin, ex-Anderlecht, Al-Sahafi scored for the 2-1.

Beerschot finally knows what winning is again. The Red Lantern scored its first three-pointer of the season, after a dramatic 2 out of 30. A victory for Beerschot, for which we have to go back six months in time. When they visited KV Oostende they celebrated the title in 1B on April 7.
Surprising Saudi rolls up passive Anderlecht defense
His first assignment as T1 of Anderlecht was immediately one that had to be won. David Hubert got his men off to a scorching start when they visited Beerschot.
After 5 minutes the 0-1 was almost on the scoreboard. Dendoncker, back in the starting line-up after illness before the international break, was able to head after an excellent free kick. He did that just too centrally and that’s how Shinton was able to save the day.
Sink or sink for Beerschot, which could barely keep the ball in the team in the opening quarter. Edozie delayed too long with a beckoning chance at the far post and so the home team survived.
Thibaud Verlinden, also fit again after a month of injuries, provided the necessary boost. His shot exploded on the post and luck was also on Coosemans’ side in the restart. The ball grazed his heel, not a particularly unfortunate own goal.
Anderlecht did not lag behind and hit the target with the next opportunity. Zanka bumped the ball onto the crossbar after a corner kick, Dendoncker cracked the rebound. The visitors took control of the match again.
Until Marwan Al-Sahafi stunned the record champion. Zanka and his fellow defenders kept giving way, giving the Saudi striker the opportunity to round off a nice run. 1-0, what a surprise!

Al-Sahafi unleashes popular celebration after lax defense again
A blow that Anderlecht could not overcome before half-time. It did come scorching from the dressing rooms. And Beerschot shot himself in the foot.
Dagba simply made a mistake and easily gave away a penalty. A gift that Kasper Dolberg did not miss, which quickly made the 1-1 a fact.
Up and about it? Anderlecht flirted with a second penalty twice, but did not get it. First Sanusi received the ball on the edge of the sixteen, soon afterwards Dolberg was pushed over. The VAR didn’t make a sound and so the Purple & White had to continue looking for opportunities.
You shouldn’t give Al-Sahafi opportunities. Once again he gets all the time from the passive Anderlecht defense to set up a long run. After a pass from Antoine Colassin, the Saudi scored his second of the evening.
Everything for Anderlecht, even if it would only test Shinton one more time. Substitute Dreyer saw his shot turned away, and shooting within the frame remained a difficult task.
And so Kiel prepared for the first folk festival of the season. The first three-pointer was a fact, a big stunt to start matchday 11. Also David Hubert’s first defeat as coach of Anderlecht.

Al-Sahafi is still looking for his third of the evening, Augustinsson pushes his shot into a corner. And so time continues to tick away in Beerschot’s favor.
Shinton cannot clamp the ball on Dreyer’s corner kick. Boxed just far enough to avoid the danger.
It is not that Anderlecht deserves to lose here, but Beerschot fought for it.

Just too far for Colassin
Beerschot still has 6 minutes to survive. Colassin can almost go to Coosemans alone to decide the match, but the Egyptian Fayed puts the ball just too far.
Hubert wants to turn the tide with two new backs. N’Diaye and Sardella are empty, Foket and Augustinsson take their place.
Dendoncker and Zanka start messing around again and almost see an excess of Beerschot players escape. Sardella saves the furniture with a right shoulder push.
The home crowd believes in it again. The 2-2 is not yet in the air, it is not enough for that as far as Anderlecht is concerned in this final phase.
Beerschot has to hold on for another 10 minutes plus added time. A first victory of the season against Anderlecht? We can call that a serious stunt.
Put Shinton to work again
And Vazquez also eagerly came in. He takes the shot and lays it off perfectly for Dreyer, who targets the far corner. Shinton finally has to work again and saves the low shot.
David Hubert must gradually do everything he can to avoid his first defeat. Vazquez has to provide extra weight in the striker, Leoni goes to the side.
