(National): a Boulogne power four marches on Orléans

Four behind it works too! USBCO outclassed Orléans (3-0) this Friday evening at the Liberation by playing in a new tactical pattern in 4-2-3-1 while it had been playing for a year with three central defenders.

« Ti’Mousse (Anthony Lecointe) had as usual studied the opponent well. We knew that this team was going to come and get us, especially with its very high pistons, the idea was to put Adrien Pinot and Julien Boyer in a good position as full-backs », explains Fabien Dagneaux, the USBCO coach. A well-felt inspiration because we only saw pink, the jersey worn by the Boulonnais during the month dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, surging in front of the Orléans goal.

Rambaud never stops scoring

The players of Fabien Dagneaux activated steamroller mode and largely dominated their opponent. The proof in figures: 7 occasions in the first period for USBCO and only a small scare at the start of the match when Zohore et Pandora did not understand each other on a ball in the area, which could have benefited midfielder Halby Touré.

On the following action, USBCO opened the scoring thanks to a ball recovered by Jean Vercruysse near the halfway line who moved up the field and served with good timing Teddy Averlant between the goalkeeper’s legs (1-0, 13e). The second goal of the season for the former player who arrived this summer from Furiani (N2), but it is still very far from the total of Thibault Rambaud who increased his meter to 6 buts thanks to a double.

The center forward was initially impeccable at the finish to take without control a pass from Théo Epailly (2-0, 25e). After hitting the bar on a loose cross at the very end of the first period, the native of caused a penalty following a handball in the area from Baudry. As a scorer, he took it upon himself to take justice into his own hands to wrap up the suspense (3-0, 58e) and offer USBCO its fifth victory of the season, in eight days.

National’s best points per game average

Even if the promoted player will not spend the weekend in the leader’s chair, because and Concarneau (who have one more match) are ahead of him by one, he has the best points average at the start of the championship (17 in 8 days, 2.1 pts/match).

It is still a little early to say what he will be able to claim against clubs like Nancy, , Concarneau or even Sochaux, more prepared and better equipped to play leading roles, but the quality of his game and the confidence exuded by this group certainly does not make it an intruder on the National podium.
