Fourth consecutive setback against Valladolid (2-3) |

Vitoria-Gasteiz

EI Valladolid won a crazy match with quite controversial referee decisions. The VAR and the speed of the Pucelano team decided in Mendizorroza, where the video arbitration came into operation on two occasions and raised a lot of dust. The pucelanos are placed with eight points and the Glorious continue with ten. The Basques’ bad streak continues, with four consecutive defeats. Those from García Plaza had the losses of Novoa and Sedlar and added three new players: Diarra, Guridi and Conechny.

Valladolid was planted in Vitoria without De la Hoz, Rosa and Cenk. The appearances were those of Javi Sánchez, Chasco, Anuar, Raúl Moro and Sylla. Although there had been speculation about a defense of five and three centre-backs, in the end there were four at the back. The white and purple team went from less to more and the Castilians took the three points. And the match started in the face of the Basques with Toni Martínez’s goal in the 6th minute. Alavés did not take advantage of the visitor’s nervousness and the pucelanos grew. In the 15th minute came Sivera’s penalty, which Sylla converted. Things became very even and Real Valladolid began to focus on defense. In the 28th minute there was a good Castilian combination that went to the clouds and in the 34th minute Guridi warned. With several final corner kicks, the match went to half-time tied at one.

In the 51st minute Guridi scored, but the referee, warned by the VAR, declared offside. Jon himself was the involuntary protagonist of the most controversial play of the clash. Handball and second penalty that, in this case, Amallah would convert. He Glorious He considered that the ball hit his shoulder rather than his biceps. Some maximum penalty was also claimed in favor of the locals that neither the match referee nor the VAR considered appropriate to review. García Plaza was then taken away by the demons in the press room.

A good counter from the visitors, with a final shot by Anuar, definitively settled the match in Mendizorroza. García Plaza’s team finished the game unhinged, nothing came of it. Except for Kike García, who scored a great goal in stoppage time and then saw red for protesting. He will not be able to play next weekend in Vallecas against Rayo. Stumbled against a direct rival who left very happy along the highway to Burgos. Night to forget in Vitoria after two penalties, a disallowed goal and an expulsion.
